DPP to endorse Chimunthu as runningmate, Atupele resigns

So many things are happening in political circle in the country as Malawi News Hub confidently sourced a credible information that the ruling Democratic Progressive Party-DPP expects to endorse former Speaker of Parliament Henry Chimunthu Banda as runningmate for President Peter Mutharika candidancy.

Chimunthu who is a former government Minister, has been playing inactive politics following his retirement announcement made after 2014 election.

With this idea has not played well for United Democratic Front-UDF whose it’s leader Atupele Muluzi expected to get picked for runningmate, a position which goes either way.

Now, it is expected that UDF – DPP relationship would sour and no doubt of break aways very soon, a move which would put the ruling party in jeopardy.

Very soon, President Peter Mutharika who will stand on DPP ticket on upcoming elections shall announce his runningmate but not coming from UDF, a move which ends their coalition at the late hour before submitting nomination papers.

As Mutharika finally picks Chimunthu , as his running mate; Malawi News Hub finds out that Atupele Muluzi expects to resign as health minister.

Inside sources indicates that UTM – UDF National Executive Committees will meet in area 43 on Tuesday morning for posibilities of joining the alliance.

In awake of UDF, if to join the UTM alliance DPP should expect get a small portion of votes from eastern region where is Mr. Muluzi’s home ground.
