Fire has gutted part of Carlsberg Malawi’s Blantyre main factory destroying some properties on Monday afternoon.
Reports indicate that the fire started in the afternoon hours of yesterday (Monday 20 March 2017) .
According to information sourced by this publication, fire fighters arrived at the company after close to about 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire has not been established. However, one of the guards working around the area suggests that the fire was caused by an electrical fault because a spark of wires was heard before the fire started.
Meanwhile, intensity of the damage remains obscure and value of the destroyed equipments is not known as authorities are yet to officially comment on the incident.
Malawi has recently seen a number of fire accidents many of which have been mysterious and suspicious with regard to destroying possible evidences of different crimes.
