Malawians living in South African cities of Durban and Cape Town have all reasons to smile as Malawi Consulate General Office is set to provide some essential services including renewal and replacement of passports.
According to a statement circulating on social media and confirmed to Malawi News Hub by Malawi Embassy, officials from the Malawi Consulate are expected to be in Durban on 8th April, 2017 and in Cape Town from March 31, 2017 to April 1, 2017.
The statement indicates that in Durban the venue is IDM Hall, 495 Dr Pixley Kasame Street widely known as West Street while in Cape Town the services shall be available at 8 Highbury Road, Mowbray next to Cape Town University of Technologies.
“The services to be provided are as follows; Renewal and replacement of passports, Visa Applications, Temporary travel documents, police clearances, authentications of Malawian documents such as drivers’ licences, Academic Certificates, Birth and Death Certificates, labour and general complaints”, reads the statement in part.
Replacement of lost passports is pegged at R1350.00 while application of new passports shall cost one R1200.00 with temporary travel documents priced R500.
The services shall only be provided from 8am to 4:30pm on the stated dates at both venues.
