A mother and her child have died in South Africa in fire accident which destroyed several houses in Cape Town.
The mother, Malawian national, identified as Enala Manda and her child are among several people who have been killed by the braze.
Manda and her child died in the evening of Friday after their shack caught fire and was taken to Western Cape hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Local media in South Africa are reporting that fierce fire has gutted several properties in Western Cape.
Enala Manda hailed from Chiswa in the area of Traditional Authority M’Mbelwa in Mzimba district.
The blaze broke out earlier this week, engulfing much of Knysna and its surrounding areas.
Up to 10,000 people are believed to have been displaced following the effects of the wilfire.
Authorities have since urged evacuated residents not to return to their homes at this stage.
