South African Police Service in the morning hours of Wednesday, May 3, 2017, arrested a Malawian and three otherforeign nationals for being foun in possession of stolen goods and unlicensed guns.
Gauteng Police Spokesperson Kay Makhubela told local radio stations in South Africa that a Malawian and other three people from Somalia were arrested following a tip off from the community.
“The three Somali nationals were arrested in Diepsloot while a Malawian was arrested in Cosmo City” said Makhubela
“The four were found with unlicensed fire arms and stolen goods which are suspected to have been stolen from a shop during an armed robbery in the area” He added
According to Makupela, the four suspects will appear before court at Randburg to answer charges of possession of stolen goods and illegal fire arms.
This comes a week or so after new police minister Fikile Mbalula accused foreigners of promoting criminality in the country.
In a press briefing ,Mbalula said ex Zimbabwean soldiers are committing serious crimes in South Africa.
