Mangochi Police nets man found with live ammunitions

Mangochi Police at Monkey-Bay Post arrested a 27 year old Umali Maliki after he was found in possession of live ammunition without proper documentation contrary to section 12 as read with section 16(2) of fire arms act.

Maliki was travelling in a lorry registration number CZ 1105 going to direction of Mangochi and was found with six rounds of live ammunition upon search conducted by on duty Police Officers at Mtakataka Turn-Off roadblock.

Suspect with live ammunitions

According to Mangochi Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Sergeant Amina Tepani Daudi, “the ammunitions are suspected to be of FN, MK4 and R4 riffles”.

Meanwhile, the suspect is in police custody waiting to appear before court of law.

Umali Maliki hails from Nkonde Village, Traditional Authority Nyambi in Machinga District.
