Malawi Congress Party (MCP) aspirant Member of Parliament (MP) for Mzimba Central Aram Beza has donated a borehole worthy K3.9 Million to community in his area.
The unveiling ceremony took place on 30 December 2017 in the area.
Beza, who was working with Revamp Aford Movement (RAMO) an affiliate of Alliance For Democracy (Aford), told Malawi News Hub that he sourced the funds from his friends in United States of America (USA).
In an interview with this publication, Beza said that the donation was made because people of Kapija area in Euthini were left without clean drinking water for years.
“The community stayed for 3 years without safe water. I sourced the funding from my friends in USA. The estimated cost for the project is K3.9 million”, said Beza.
The former Peoples Party (PP) member pointed out that the donation was made out of passionate friendship and is not connected to political intentions.
Answering why he decided to join main opposition MCP laughing Beza said he thinks MCP is currently the best party.
Meanwhile one of the active RAMO members Yonah Luhanga has expressed worry of Aram Beza and Reverend Maurice Munthali exit from the party.He said this is a sign that the AFORD future is not healthy at all.
“Let’s not pretend everything is okay while we are suffering from
brain cancer . The exit of the two from aford is a good sign that
we are drowning slowly slowly. May our leadership see this. Wish
you guys well sir Aram Beza and Rev Maurice Munthali ”
Malawi News Hub reported last week that munthali has dumped AFORD and join the main opposition MCP
Assuming Beza stands in 2019, he is likely to face Jonathan Kamanga who also eyeing the same seat at unknown political party ticket.Mzimba central seat is currently occupied by Henry Shaba independent.
