Cases of suicide seem to spare nobody as a mentally challenged man identified as Augustine Yusuf Ntepeka has ended up his life by hanging himself in a tree in Mangochi.
According to Mangochi Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Sergeant Amina Tepani Daudi, the deceased had just been discharged from Zomba Mental Hospital.
The deceased’s father told the police that his son just disappeared from the house on April 2, 2017 around 08:00 hours and was later, in the evening, found dead while hanging on a rope tied in a tree.
The matter was reported to police who took the remains to hospital and an autopsy carried out at Namwera Health Centre indicated that the death was due suffocation.
Ntepeka hailed from Nkwalula Village, Traditional Authority Bwananyambi in Mangochi District.
