Police in Embangweni are yet to arrest people involved in witchcraft violence that erupted in Samuel Kamanga Village in area of Traditional Authority Mzikubola in Mzimba.

Reports that Malawi News Hub got indicates that mob attacked and vandalised property of a witchcraft suspect identified as Kadango Hedala Phiri.

Phiri is being suspected of killing his daughter in-law aged about 20 who died ‘mysteriously’ last week.

The suspect’s property was vandalised following mob attack.

According to eyewitnesses, the police were alerted about the development but were unable to reach the area which is about 20 Km from the police station.

It is not clear if the police will trace and arrest the culprits but videos that have gone viral show a group of young people breaking a house of the accused.

Malawi laws clearly say that witchcraft does not exist.
