In new revelations as Malawi slowly moves to much anticipated 2019 general elections, Malawi News Hub has learnt that Peoples Party (PP) is planning to form coalition with Malawi congress party (MCP) in the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
The news was revealed by PP’s Mzimba South Constituency Governor Henry Nkhoma during a funeral service earlier this month in the area of Tradintional Authority Mzikubola who said that members of his party should welcome MCP members in the area because PP and MCP are one.
Nkhoma was speaking on behalf of Maquenda Chunga who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mzimba South.
Speaking in Tumbuka, Nkhoma said members of PP should not worry of newly formed parties because they have nothing to offer.
He added that they must welcome MCP members because the two parties will engaged into coalition.
MCP officials were unavailable to comment.
