Learners in Pretoria South Africa last Friday had to boycott classes in demand to be allowed to wear skinny pants during classes.
Learners disrupted classes at Hoërskool Pretoria West demanding to wear skinny pants arguing that their uniforms are too big.
According to local media houses in South Africa, Gauteng Department of Education confirmed that learning and teaching at Hoёrskool Pretoria West resumed as per normal on Monday morning.
The department visited the school following reports of disruptions of learning and teaching on Friday, when learners demanded the incorporation of skinny pants into the school uniform.
In a statement the the Gauteng Department of Education said “officials dispatched to the school on Monday morning confirmed that the protest emanated from two unruly learners who transgressed the code of conduct regarding uniform,”
It said following a disciplinary process, the learners received a sanction of a seven day suspension.
